"To play 18 years in Yankee Stadium and for you folks is the best thing that can ever happen to a ballplayer," Mickey Mantle famously said at the ceremony. "And to retire my number with numbers 3, 4 and 5 tops off everything. I often wondered how a man who knew he was dying could get up here and say he's the luckiest man in the world. Now I think I know how Lou Gehrig felt." (A full video of the festivities can be viewed by clicking here.)

This dynamic, high-quality, 8x10 image features Mantle and Mike Burke at the microphones, with former teammates behind, and then the grandstand backdrop of enthusiastic fans, flag bunting and homemade celebratory banners. There are "8"-strength signatures of Mantle, Coleman, McDougald, Richardson and Howard, plus an extremely faint signature of Ford. Apparent EX condition within a 15-1/2 x 13-1/2" frame. Full LOA from JSA.
