One of baseball's great dynasties gets some prominent recognition with this lot (10) HOFer and star player signature cuts. These vintage signings were presented to fans long before anyone thought to make them line up with a paid ticket for the privilege.
Emphasizing the mighty 1928-1932 Philadelphia Athletics dynasty, this group includes (5) individuals that were part of the team for the entire period with HOFers Connie Mack (d.1956), Al Simmons (d.1956), Mickey Cochrane (d.1962) personalized, "Lefty" Grove (d.1975) and star pitcher George Earnshaw (d.1976) the only non-HOFer in this lot, plus immortal HOFer Tris Speaker (d.1958) who finished his playing career with the A's in 1928 as they were rising to the top.
The balance of this lot is populated by (4) more HOFers with Burleigh Grimes (d.1985), Heinie Manush (d.1971), Bill McKechnie (d.1965) and "Ducky" Medwick (d.1975). All of these baseball legends departed for the "Field of Dreams" between thirty and sixty years ago, making this a lot a group of super tough signatures offered at a very reasonable starting point. Signatures range ("7" to "10") on solid materials. Auction LOA from JSA.
