Description

It was the third no-hitter in the annals of Yankeedom and the first in the House That Ruth Built. Cover notations by a scorer named Donal McDonnell show the 13-0 tally over Cleveland and "second game of Double-header," with the date mistakenly being one day off. EX/EX-MT condition. Accompanied by a congenial 1973 letter from Mr. McDonnell reading, "I enclose the score card, as promised, and must confess I found it fascinating reading to go through again. You will note that I was not the most accurate scorer of the day as I did not show how each of the 'Outs' were made. I also have to assume that I did not count the Bases on Balls issued to Lary and to Campbell as 'At Bats' so I only show that Pearson faced twenty-seven men which is incorrect."
