Description

The Glory of Their Times! Following publication of Ritter’s book in 1966, surviving pre-war ballplayers who were interviewed by the author received numerous autograph requests. With (Wahoo) Sam Crawford’s passing in June 1968, the baseball world lost a lively Hall of Famer with a penchant for satisfying fan requests. Signature graded Authentic and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. This extremely scarce 1909-11 T206 White Borders Sam Crawford (with Bat) pose was signed by the Nebraskan with a blue ballpoint pen. The endorsement is placed directly atop the player’s illustration and grades a strong (“8”) in both strength and clarity. The cardboard foundation grades in (Good) condition and comes with a clean Piedmont 350 Subjects advertising back. Only two total Crawford signed T206 cards have been validated by the grading service. A full photo LOA from JSA also accompanies.
