Description

Open your collection to this important first. Offered is an autographed program from the great Cal Ripken, Jr.'s first opening day in the Majors. An August call-up in 1981, Ripken enjoyed his first Orioles season opener at venerable Memorial Stadium in Baltimore on 4/5/82 vs. another great, George Brett and the Kansas City Royals. The O's notched a victory in a 13-5 slugfest, that saw six homers by O's Ripken, Murray, Roenicke and Ford and Royals Brett and White.

This early milestone program shows solid (VG-EX+) quality and the scorecard grids are diligently recorded with play by play results in pencil. Ripken has signed the Orioles' scoring page with determined ("9-10") potency by means of a black felt-tip pen. Accompanying this program is a 4/5/82 Orioles ticket stub (VG) with clean, bright surfaces. Auction LOA from JSA.
