Plucked in the first round of the 1999 Amateur Draft, pitcher Brett Myers is the definition of a pitcher who struggled with consistency as his lifetime statistics (97-96, 4.25, .503 win %) show. Myers is the one who wore this April 5, 2009 Opening Day jersey. The Majestic size 54 shirt has "Phillies" in gold-on-white-on-red twill in the same style as "39" on the left sleeve and "Myers 39" on reverse. A gold trim "Phillies 2008 World Series" patch is on the right sleeve. The Phillies lost 4-1 as Derek Lowe outdueled Myers, who gave up home runs to Francouer and McCann in the first two innings.
