As they hone their skills in Clearwater, Florida every spring, the Philadelphia Phillies celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style with green apparel. This item was worn by Mexico native Arturo Gonzalez in 1986 as the Phils sought to capture the “luck o’ the Irish.” This uniform features a Wilson size 44 zipper-down green pinstriped shirt that features light to moderate wear with a green “P” on the left breast opposite a “52” on the right breast on the front. The reverse features “Gonzalez 52” in green and green piping lines the collarbone and the sides of the jersey. Also included in the uniform are Wilson size 32 pinstriped pants with light scattered wear and green piping on the sides as well as a pair of socks and a belt, which are (of course) also green. A solid collectible for any Phillies enthusiast, this uniform comes from the first year that the Philadelphia baseball club wore this style. Additionally, given the short career of Gonzalez in the major leagues, the uniform could be categorized as quite hard to find.
