Description



Ante up for this collection of vintage baseball themed card games and playing card decks. Dating from the 1900s-1970s, this fascinating assortment includes a variety of complete decks and games in original boxes or wrappers, along with a healthy supply of singles, with:


1904 Fan Craze game, billed on the box lid as "The Great Pocket Edition of the National Game", this ancient presentation includes (52) result and instruction cards in excellent condition, a clean and solid wood playing field with partial "Fan Craze" sticker adhered to the center and holes to track strikes, balls etc., an envelope with several small nails to insert in the balls and strikes holes, an intact instructions manual with two folds and a moderate stain and two scorecards, one used and one unused, all housed in the original factory box with batter graphic in pleasing state with deference to clear tape repairs on the perimeter


1927-1929 Psychic Baseball game, includes (27) action cards with player graphics in moderately worn condition and a variety of paper items in fair to good condition with a pocket size instructions booklet, a large format instructions booklet, three promotional sheets and twelve used scorecard sheets, housed in original factory box with great playing field graphics in decent condition with deference to peg holes at the bases and outfield scoreboard


1941 Star Baseball game with (56) pristine action result cards and (1) rules card in original factory box that is slid, clean and very pleasing with a photo of Wm. P. Ulrich President Spokane Baseball Club


1949 Ed-U-Card Batter Up game with (36) pristine action result cards and a crisp instructions sheet (folded) in a fairly decent original factory box showing moderate wear


1950s Metcalf Kings of the Diamond playing card double deck with Ruth and Gehrig in original factory box embossed with "Compliments of Douw F. Beekman" period advertising, both clean and attractive decks are complete with (52) playing cards with blank advertising sections and (2) jokers per deck, the gilt-edged box presents in excellent shape with handsome gloss and bold color


(3) 1950s Redi-Slip playing cards decks, all are complete decks with jokers, with: Connie Mack box shows moderate wear, cards are excellent; Lou Gehrig box is solid bot top flaps are absent, cards show moderate wear with one trimmed; Honus Wagner box is clean and very pleasing, cards are excellent


1973 U.S. Playing Cards Smithsonian Museum deck of Babe Ruth playing cards sealed in original wrapper


(2) 1906 Fan Craze Art Series absolutely gorgeous player photo game cards with Chief Bender and Harris White


(7) 1913 Baseball The National Game cards in better condition with MLB player photos including one of Ty Cobb sliding into home plate


(2) 1910s Parker Brothers Nap Lajoie photo game cards, both excellent with one red tint and one blue tint


1914 Polo Grounds Ed Walsh game card in above average grade


(6) 1917 Norpoth game cards, all excellent


(22) 1953 L & F Inc. game cards in above average to better condition


(26) 1934 Quaker Cereal "Ask Me" baseball trivia cards in better to excellent condition
