No, the title of this lot isn't a typo. Beginning in 1865 and continuing until 1889, the U.S. Mint issued Three-Cent coins made from a copper and nickel blend. These coins were created as an alternate to already existing silver three-cent coins, which were widely hoarded during the Civil War period with silver at a premium. Offered is an inaugural year Three-Cent Nickel dated 1865. This nicely preserved coin shows strong details and is NGC graded MS63, the optimum price point for many collectors, providing high quality at an affordable price.
