Baseball’s most glorious dynasty is hailed with this ruling “Triumvirate” photo. As with the dawn of the mighty Roman Empire, the New York Yankees of the 1930s were ruled by three high ranking officials. Seen in an original 5x4 Type I photograph are from left to right, team captain Lou Gehrig, owner Jacob Ruppert and manager Joe McCarthy. Under the leadership of these great baseball men, the “Bronx Bombers” sustained their unmatched reign of success that began in the 1920s and continued to the mid-1960s. The names of these Yankees titans are written but faded on the top border of the obverse and were it not for a single pin-hole at top center, this stunning photo would easily rate an EX-MT designation, as the surface is clean and free of crazing, the gloss is excellent, the corners are sharp and the images are distinct.
