Make good political choices with this collection of signed and unsigned photographs. Dating from the 1950s-1980s, this group boasts big time movers and shakers of the day, including popular president and major movie star Ronald Reagan, top watchdog J. Edgar Hoover Director of the FBI and associate justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to serve as a member of the Supreme Court. These photos range from standard size 8x10s to poster sized editions, with most framed. Auction LOA from JSA (unless noted).
Most of these photos were the property of former White House staff member “Boots” Thompson, including (2) personalized 8x10s that are both framed to approximately 11-1/2 x 13”, with: Ronald Reagan signed (“9-10”) with “To Boots Thompson – with great appreciation, every good wish, & very best regards”; and Sandra Day O’Connor signed (“7”) with “with best regards to Boots from”.
A third 8x10 is framed to 12-1/2 x 14” and multi-signed by (7) average (“8-9”) with from left to right: Julie Brink, Caron Jackson, Margaret Tutwiler, Jim Baker, Eileen Upperman, Bob Houser, Mary Gordon. No authentication due to lack of exemplars.
The fourth and final signed piece is a 6-1/2 x 7-1/2” photo of J. Edgar Hoover mounted on a 9 x 11-1/2” backer, signed just below the photo by Hoover (“9-10”) with a personalization and the date “9/6/55”.
Also present are (4) unsigned posters on thick stock, with:

23-1/2 x 18” Unframed 1984 Reagan “Victory Celebration” rally unframed, stamped on reverse with “Official Photograph The White House Washington, D.C.” also has handwritten date “11/6/84”
The following is an excerpt from Thompson’s obituary that appeared in the 3/28/2017 edition of the Washington Post:
“BOOTS THOMPSON Of Vienna, Va., completed her earthly journey on March 15, 2017. A true "Southern Belle," a loyal friend and a staunch Republican, Boots lived a rich, full, wonderful life. She worked in the Visitor's Office of the White House during the Reagan and the George H. W. Bush administrations. She then went on to become a staff assistant to Hayley Barbour, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, and finally she served on Lynne Cheney's White House staff during the George W. Bush administration”.
