Giants from the left coast are represented in this impressive lot of (6) baseball bats. Headlining the half-dozen are game-used war clubs, four of which have been autographed by their subjects. Includes:
Will Clark 1980s Louisville Slugger “H176” (34-1/2”, 32.9-oz) block-letter (last name only) pro stock model; uncracked, the weapon shows no use with bat-rack streaks and a flare knob. Between the center brand and barrel stampings, Clark has signed in black marker (“9” strength) and inscribed “Best of Luck - #22.”
Dave Kingman 1984-1985 Louisville Slugger “S2” (35-1/2”, 32.4-oz) signature model; uncracked, the bat shows light use with bat-rack and surface marks throughout, as well as a black marker notation of “10” on the knob. The latter identifier suggests that the bat was issued to Kingman during his tenure with the Oakland A’s. Between the center brand and barrel stampings, Kingman has signed in blue marker (“7-8” strength).
Willie McCovey 1987-1989 Rawlings-Adirondack (34”, 39.9-oz) blue ring signature model; signed just below the barrel stampings in black marker (“6-7” strength).
Buster Posey 2011 Louisville Slugger “C243” (34-1/2”, 34-oz) Pro Stock model; the uncracked weapon shows no use and has a black marker notation of “28” on the knob. Between the center brand and barrel stampings, Posey has signed in black marker (“8-9” strength). An MLB Authentication hologram accompanies.
San Francisco Giants Team Bat 1986-1989 Louisville Slugger “C243” (34”, 34.6-oz) block-letter (“GIANTS”) model with a deep brown Hickory finish; uncracked, the bat shows tremendous use with ball and deeply embedded stitch marks throughout, as well as scoring about the handle.
Also included is a 1984 Louisville Slugger “San Francisco All-Stars” commemorative black bat. The souvenir (35”, 42.7-oz”) features a glossy black “Smith” finish and gold-colored stampings listing the (27) players who had represented the San Francisco Giants in the Mid-Summer Classic (from the club’s 1958 move until the 1984 edition). Includes: Alou, Antonelli, Bailey, Blue, Bonds, Cepeda, Clark, Davenport, Dietz, Evans, Haller, Hammaker, Hart, Jones, Lavelle, Marichal, Mays, McCormick, McCovey, Miller, Minton, Montefusco, Murcer, Perry, Schmidt, Speier and Whitson.
