Along with Baltimore manager, Earl Weaver (HOF), the umpiring crew from the1979 Baltimore Orioles versus Chicago White Sox Opening Day game At Memorial Stadium have signed this baseball with no stampings, appearing to be signing for one of the umpires. The sweet spot of the toned baseball has a big signature from Earl Weaver. The west panel is signed “To a Real Pro, Jerry Phipps.” The east panel is signed “Good luck! Jim O'Connor.” The north panel is signed “Opening Day 4-6-79 - White Sox 3 - Orioles 5 - Dallas Parks - Plate Umpire.” and “Hank” Soar (ump supervisor).
