A mighty band of sluggers have joined in the signing of this 1937 MLB All-Star Game photograph. Our nation's capital had the honor of hosting the fifth edition of the Mid-Summer Classic, held at Griffith Stadium on 7/7/37. Boasting a loaded roster filled with tremendous hitters, the AL squad won the day, with an 8-3 triumph over their NL counterparts. Seven Hall of Famers are pictured in this classic on-field photograph, and (5) of them have signed across their uniforms. Unless noted, signature strength averages ("9" to "10") with from left to right: Joe Cronin, Bill Dickey, Joe DiMaggio, Charlie Gehringer ("7", enhanced), and Hank Greenberg. Adhesive residue across the foreground in front of the stars indicates a caption overlay has been removed. This condition, along with a black cropping mark at the upper-right corner, and a paper clip surface impression at bottom-center suggest this otherwise crisp and attractive photo was intended for publication.
