Infamous for providing performance enhancing drugs to MLB players, personal trainer Brian McNamee added some serious muscle to the Yankees dynasty of 1996-2000. McNamee admitted to pumping up the aces of the Yankees pitching staff with PEDs, tainting the five year run that produced four World Series championships. Following the Yankees triumph over their crosstown rival Mets in 2000, McNamee was presented a key to the City of New York by then mayor Rudy Giuliani at a celebration for the Yankees.
This hefty brass key measures approximately 6x2 at the widest points and presents in better condition with (EX-MT) details. Considerable in size as keys go, this presentation piece replicates the key made for the door to NY City Hall in 1812, as noted on engraved plate affixed to the top of the included original case. This lustrous memento is fashioned with the New York City Seal at left and relief style lettering across the length, that reads "Mayor Rudy Giuliani". Accompanying this souvenir from baseball's dark side, is an LOA on "American Nutrition Center" letterhead, signed by McNamee.
