Fewer than a handful of these 1887 Boston Beaneaters scorecards have previously reached auction, each of which carried Old Judge advertising and sold for between $1,400 and $1,700. This particular example likewise features the great King Kelly and boasts a beautiful, bright lithographic cover image (captioned "Where Is It?"). The advertising here is for a Boston sweet shop. The interior scoring grids feature pre-printed lineups and scoring grids which have been neatly marked in pencil to document a 17-4 thrashing of the Philadelphia Quakers on May 10 at South End Grounds. Measures 8-3/4 x 7-1/4" (when opened) and exhibits minimally VG-EX quality.
