Description

Though a lackluster performance in a 62-7 AFC Playoff loss to Jacksonville simultaneously marked the end of the line for both Dan Marino and coach Jimmy Johnson, the former icon was subsequently rewarded with Hall of Fame induction for a career in which he threw a then-record 420 touchdown aerials. Renowned artist Stephen Holland, too, paid tribute to the Dolphin great with this 2001 limited edition (83/99) hand enhanced giclee-on-canvas oil painting. The textured canvas measures 27-7/8 x 41-5/8” and is firmly affixed to a sturdy wooden frame. The calculated mixture of vibrant colors combines to portray a pensive Marino about to deliver one of his pinpoint passes. Near the lower right corner, Marino has signed in black marker and inscribed “13.” Emerging prominently against the white background of his uniform pants, Marino’s autograph projects (“8”) strength and clarity.
