Description

The Dean Brothers took baseball by storm in '34 as Dizzy earned MVP honors with his 30 wins and rookie Daffy chipped in 19 more victories, en route to championship glory. Little wonder that the endorsements poured in that postseason, including from the St. Louis-based Rice-Stix company who produced their "Me and Paul" line of polo shirts and mechanical pens/pencils. To our knowledge, this rare surviving cardboard ad sign (9" x 10-1/2") is the first to hit the auction block since 1999. Technically (VG) overall with a whitish stain at top and heavy reverse wear, but the all-important text areas and head shots fortunately have been spared. Future professional restoration may even return the piece to its original splendor.
