Also-rans in a National League dominated by the Baltimore Orioles, the Cincinnati Reds and Brooklyn Grooms split a twinbill at League Park on September 23, 1894. This program was issued in the Queen City that afternoon. A rare Senior Circuit survivor, this 20-page guide features pre-printed lineups featuring Hall of Famer Bid McPhee in the cleanup slot for the hosts, as well as teammate Dummy Hoy in center field. The scoring grids have been marked in graphite pencil to document a 10-9 Game 1 triumph by Brooklyn. The program presents (GD) with all pages intact. There is a vertical compacting fold and portions missing from the front and back covers, as well as vintage transparent tape strips along the edges and spine.
