The first franchise to garner five World Series titles, the Boston Red Sox committed the ultimate gaffe with the ill-advised sale of Babe Ruth in 1919. In the eight decades that followed, the BoSox appeared in just four Fall Classic showdowns – and lost each in a heart-wrenching Game 7. From the painful “curse-stricken” years, these (3) World Series Black Bats serve as a reminder of the Carmines’ lengthy plight. Each showcases a black “Smith” finish with gold-colored facsimile signature stampings (for those under contract with Hillerich & Bradsby) or block-letter stampings (for anyone who did not wield H&B weapons). Turned in limited quantities and almost exclusively for players, coaches and team personnel, these keepsakes are ideal collectibles and include:

1946: presents (NM) with highlights including Cronin, D. DiMaggio, Doerr, Pesky and Williams.

1967: presents (EX) with very minor scuffing at barrel end; prominent names include Conigliaro, Doerr, Harrelson, Lonborg and Yastrzemski.

1975: presents (NM) with highlights including Evans, Fisk, Lynn, Rice and Yastrzemski.
