Advanced publication collectors know just how tough 1960s AFL regular season programs are. Somewhere way out there on the next level are AFL All-Star Game programs and we've got (3) of them. Not just any (3) either, but examples from the first three such events played. No ASG was played after the AFL's 1960 first season, but after that for the next nine seasons the League's best players were selected for an annual contest held in January following the conclusion of the AFL's postseason, meaning the winner of this prestigious lot will take home a third of the total nine possible AFL ASG program editions.
All of the first three games were played at Balboa Stadium in San Diego, with the competing teams billed as "East" and "West". And for the icing on the cake, we gladly report that all (3) of these AFL All-Star Game programs have been maintained by a meticulous collector in a very pleasing state, with: 1/7/62 inaugural game (VG+) due to a very minor 1" tape repair on the spine, otherwise presents EX detail; 1/13/63 second game (VG-EX) due to a corner crease at bottom right, otherwise presents EX-MT; and 1/19/64 third game (EX-MT) with two 1/2" sections of spine wear preventing a NM rating.
