Already a veteran of five full seasons, four American League pennants and three World Series titles at the tender age of 24, can’t-miss phenom Mickey Mantle was just getting started. The appropriate subject of photographer Raymond Gallo’s work, Mantle has signed this sizable color print of the iconic photo. Framed to 26-1/4 x 36-1/8”, the image (widely documented to be Mantle’s personal favorite) shows a smiling Mantle relaxing in the dugout in his Yankees road attire during his 1956 Triple Crown season. Entitled “The “Mighty Mick” of ’56,” the piece is autographed by Mantle in black marker (“9-10” strength). Auction LOA from JSA
