To our trained eye, amid all the Type III photos here, there appears to be about a dozen Type I examples: 1923 Bill Cunningham; 1924 Frank Chance (as Red Sox manager); 1927 Tony Lazzeri; 1927 Earl Smith; 1930 Charley Gelbert; 1932 Earl Webb; Tommy Byrne; Gee Walker; Phil Masi; Joe Marty (SF Seals); Frankie Frisch (as Cubs manager); Frisch/Ott/General Bradley; and Frisch/Fitzsimmons (may be Type II).
Type III subjects include Kenesaw Landis, Jimmy Wilson, Carleton/Frisch/Dean, FDR, J. Robinson, Lazzeri, Mantle/T. Williams, Tom Oliver, Oscar Melillo, Roy Hughes, Dickey/Hemsley, Monty Stratton, General Crowder, Earl Smith, Bill Walker, John Welch, Moose Solters, Joe Cronin, Bill Meusel, Wood/Young/Grove/W. Johnson, Frisch/Street/Breadon and a few 1934 WS action scenes.
Sizes of all the aforementioned photos range from 5x7 to 8x10. Then there are another dozen snapshot-sized photos (likely also Type I) of 1930s Reds and Phillies players. Typical newsroom/editorial usage wear throughout the collection (plus official stampings and reverse captions/notations).
