Highlighted by 7 Joe Sewell missives (one mentioning the Yankee Stadium Golden Anniversary, another lamenting the advent of free agency), as well as 4 more HOFers—Bill Dickey; Stan Coveleski (first-name signature); 1954 George Kelly (taped edges); 1979 Buck Leonard. Nearly all are autograph request replies, with most being detailed letters on standard lined paper to a Mr. Ray Pitts, who had apparently asked the signers to list and talk about their former teammates and opponents. Sizes range from 4x5 to 8-1/2" x 11", and condition averages EX with "9-10" handwriting/signature strength. The remainder are mainly seldom-seen old timers in their waning years, with a few contemporary players in the mix: 1980 Gene Corbett; 1977 Monte Irvin; 1980 Red Bullock; 1980 Harlond Clift; 1976 Roy Grover; 1980 Earl Browne; 1979 Ralph Garcia; 1979 Larry Gowell; 1967 Irv Porter; 1979 Bob Gorinski; 1980 Dave LaPoint; 1978 Frank Carpin; 1980 Bobby Coombs; 1979 Moose Clabaugh; Boze Berger; 1981 Doe Boyland; 1980 Al Brancato; 1979 Red Cox; 1980 Pat Ankenman; George Selkirk (Senators stationery); 1979 Jake Freeze; 1950 Muddy Ruel; 1965 Elbie Fletcher; Bruce Cunningham. Auction LOA from JSA.
