The 1964 Philadelphia Phillies season is best remembered for traumatizing fans with a horrendous September swoon known as "The Phold". While the Phils failed to make it to the World Series, the team provided plenty to cheer about throughout what was actually a very exciting campaign. Dick Allen was selected NL Rookie of the Year, Johnny Callison was the All-Star MVP, Jim Bunning delivered a perfect game performance of Father's Day and budding star Rick Wise showed plenty of promise. One of the great souvenirs of this unforgettable season, is the Philadelphia Bulletin's album series of (28) 8x10 player insert supplements, nearly all formatted with portraits and action shot poses of the depicted team members.
Presented is a 1964 Philadelphia Bulletin Phillies Album near-set of (26/28) premiums ranging desirably as (EX to NM+) with: Dick Allen, Ruben Amaro, Jack Baldschun, Dennis Bennett, Johnny Boozer, Johnny Briggs, Jim Bunning portrait, Johnny Callison, Danny Cater, Wes Covington, Ray Culp, Clay Dalrymple, Tony Gonzalez, John Herrnstein, Alex Johnson, Art Mahaffey, Vic Power, Ed Roebuck, Cookie Rojas, Bobby Shantz, Chris Short, Tony Taylor, Frank Thomas, Gus Triandos, Bobby Wine, Rick Wise.
