Description




DC denizens give a big welcoming wave to this assortment of vintage Washington baseball pennants. Dating from the 1940s-1960s are (7) full-size flags designed with either "Senators" or "Nationals" team nickname lettering, including some real tough examples. These Mid-20th Century promoters are also adorned with captivating graphics that make for dynamic display. Featured are:


Nationals c.1940s "batting scene" applique and white lettering on a blue background with a white accent strip (EX) with age-appropriate wear, the toughest example in this group


Nationals c.1950s "batting senator" applique and red lettering against a white background with red accent strip and three of four tassels attached (EX) with scattered moth holes and bold graphics, reverse has "Pilgrim Badge & Specialty Co." label


Senators c.1950s "sliding play" applique and white lettering on gray background, with orange accent strip (VG-EX+) with strong graphics/lettering and pinholes at typical endpoints


Senators c.1950s "sliding play" applique and white lettering on blue background, with red accent strip (EX-MT) with strong graphics/lettering and minor point erosion


Senators with multi-color "1950s team logo" applique and white lettering on a blue background and white accent strip with one set of tassels attached and one set of tassels absent (EX) with wrinkled surface


Senators with multi-color "1960s team logo" applique and white lettering against a red background with white accent strip (VG) with scattered moth holes
