Still reeling from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in November of 1963, a grief stricken nation was presented with a change in design for half dollar coins in 1964. This change took the form of a switch from the likeness of "Founding Father" Benjamin Franklin to that of the beloved JFK. Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Kennedy Half Dollar series, is this 1964-2014-W Half Dollar gold coin minted at West Point. As declared on the reverse, this celebratory issue is comprised of .9999 Fine Gold, with a weight of 3/4-OZ. Encapsulated and certified by NGC, this impressive coin is bestowed with the near perfect grade of PF69 Ultra Cameo. Label notations include "Kennedy 50th Anniversary 1964-2014 W Gold 50C High Relief Early Releases" and also Kennedy's famous quotation from his 1/20/61 Inaugural Address speech, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".
