Synonymous with college basketball supremacy, Louisville, Kentucky has been the site of (6) Final Four tournaments. These (6) vintage programs were issued at the Freedom Hall Arena on the Kentucky Fairgrounds for all six of those hoops extravaganzas. Includes:
1958: (Kentucky reigns as champions for the fourth time in a field that included Kansas State, Seattle and Temple); 28-page program presents (EX) with minimal front cover wear and covers/pages intact throughout.
1959: (Cal wins its first-ever championship, outlasting Cincinnati, Louisville and West Virginia); 32-page guide presents (VG-EX) with hint of a vertical compacting crease, covers/pages completely intact.
1962: (Cincinnati wins it all with a triumph over Ohio State, felled in the semi-finals were Wake Forest and UCLA in John Wooden’s first of 12 Final Four appearances); program presents (NM) with covers/pages completely intact, scoring grids were marked on site in graphite pencil.
1963: (Chicago’s Loyola Ramblers emerge victorious, besting field including Cincinnati, Duke and Oregon State); program presents (EX) with covers/pages intact, scoring grids are unmarked.
1967: (UCLA wins its first of a remarkable seven consecutive titles, leaving Final Four also-rans Dayton, Houston and North Carolina behind); program presents (NM) with covers/pages completely intact, scoring grids are unmarked.
