As supervisor of the assembly and decorating department at Wisconsin’s Hartland Plastics, Frank Fulop had a brilliant idea for an encore to the company’s well-received Western-themed figurines. An avid baseball fan already, Fulop spent the summer of 1958 taking in games at Milwaukee’s County Stadium and Chicago’s Comiskey Park, where he observed and sketched stars for painstakingly detailed statues. The result was an immensely popular set of plastic statues, which is well represented in this gathering of (18) scarce survivors! Several have been cleaned and/or partially restored (basically, cleaned) by Fulop, himself. Includes:

Hank Aaron (restored with reproduction bat)

Luis Aparicio (restored)

Ernie Banks (restored with reproduction bat)

Yogi Berra (with reproduction mask)

Rocky Colavito (completely original with bat; this is the second-toughest Hartland Statue, as production was limited to 10,000)

Don Drysdale (completely original)

Nellie Fox (restored)

Harmon Killebrew (restored with original bat)

Mickey Mantle (completely original with bat)

Roger Maris (completely original with bat)

Eddie Mathews (restored)

Willie Mays (restored)
