Time to go big for this very rare mini bobblehead figure. This palm-sized treasure is a Cleveland Indians "boy face" bobble from the 1961-1962 series. Typically Cleveland is represented in the 1961-1962 miniseries by a "Chief Wahoo" mascot figure with white or green base. A check of currently available and previously sold pieces failed to encounter even a photo of a Cleveland mini with a boy face and while most early '60s baseball minis are scarce, this one looks to be closer to impossible. Standing 4-1/2" tall with a 1-3/4" diameter base, this mighty mite displays in spectacular condition with excellent gloss, bold colors and full decals on the jersey and base. Small imperfections are noted on the base below the decal letter "C", on the left side of the chin and on the back of the jersey and pants, however these pinhead-sized surface flaws look like they occurred during production rather than being caused by attrition over the years. Even the head opening, which usually shows the highest concentration of wear on bobbleheads, is in excellent shape with just very slight wear. All in all this rare Indians mini is a fantastic find that rates as (EX-MT+) due to the flaws described above and moderate yellowing on the back of the uniform, though the front presents more like NM+.
