Description

Far from complacent after their 94-win season was only good enough for third place, the 1949 New York Yankees hired Casey Stengel to take the helm. What ensued was the first of a record five successive World Series titles. This baseball is autographed by (22) members of that juggernaut pinstriper roster. The creamy OAL Harridge orb (grade "6") is home to black-ink steel tip fountain pen signatures that average ("5-6") quality. Includes: Sweet Spot: DiMaggio (clubhouse); North Panel: Bauer, Pillette, Reynolds, Sanford, Henrich, Keller and Lindell; South Panel: Mize ("3" strength), Marshall, Johnson, Silvera (clubhouse) and Brown; West Panel: Coleman, Woodling, Buxton, Lopat, Page and Niarhos; East Panel: Byrne, Stirnweiss (clubhouse) Mapes, Rizzuto ("4-5" strength), Berra ("4" strength) and Raschi. Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA.
