Description

Sports figure seekers drop some coin on this nicely preserved 1950s Gibbs-Conner Chicago Bears mascot bank. This astonishing piece reports in compelling (NM) condition. The front side of this senior citizen collectible displays as factory fresh, with no signs of wear detected under magnified examination. A factory firing flaw is noted on the back, in the form of a hairline surface breech along the point where the Bear mascot connects to the football coin receptacle. This 1-1/2" long winding fissure is completely glazed over, indicating it occurred during production while the ceramic bank was being kiln fired at well over a thousand degrees Farenheit and therefore is not considered as wear, but rather an inherent part of the piece. Otherwise this C-G classic presents about as well as could be expected.
