Description

Hobby history—that is, artifacts pertaining to the Wild West early days of our hobby and its dealers—is a collecting sector with a cult following. The impressive offering presented here originates from the personal library of a recently deceased member of the hobby's elder statesmen, Ben Cavallo. Condition is EX to NM, with no duplication.

The Card Collector's Bulletin (1): 2/1/61 issue with an article by Jefferson Burdick and ads by Buck Barker and Frank Nagy. Additional ads seek T205 and T206 cards, as well as offer a 1958 Topps complete set for just $12.50.

The Sport Hobbyist (2): Sep.-Oct./62; and Nov.-Dec./62 (T206 Wagner cover article by Nagy).

Sports Scoop (10): February 1973 inaugural issue (articles by Don Steinbach, Lloyd Toerpe, Pat Quinn and Keith Olbermann); March 1973 #2; October 1973 #8 (w/back-cover column "Larry Fritsch Speaks Out!" plus an ad for an early ASCCA show by promoters Mike Aronstein and Paul Gallagher); and 1974 (7).

Dan Dischley's Trader Speaks (28): 1970 (4), 1971 (3), 1972 (3), 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976 (3), 1978 (3), 1979, 1980 (2), 1982 (6).
