While many a big league aspirant never made it beyond the sandlot, the retail weapons they brandished had the feel of superstar lumber pulled right from a Major League bat rack! Here are (8) vintage examples.


Yogi Berra: 1950-1960 Hillerich & Bradsby 35” signature model (heavy use with bat-rack and surface marks throughout)


Joe Cronin: 1930s-1940s Hillerich & Bradsby 35” signature model with “125 J.C.” center brand retail identifier; bat features a Hornsby style knob and shows heavy use with vintage layer of athletic tape on handle

Joe Cronin: 1965-1968 Hillerich & Bradsby 35” “C67” signature model (minimal use)


Charlie Keller: 1946-1950 Adirondack 35” block-letter (last name only) model (heavy use with grain swelling and surface marks throughout, as well as two chips on knob)


Harmon Killebrew: 1965-1968 Hillerich & Bradsby 33” signature model (heavy use with grain swelling/checking on hitting surface)


Mickey Mantle: 1980-1983 Louisville Slugger 33” “K55” signature model (uncracked and unused)


Roger Maris: 1960s Spalding 34” signature model with a textured handle (minimal use)


Arky Vaughan: 1940s Hillerich & Bradsby 35” block-letter “FLOYD VAUGHAN” model (heavy use with grain swelling and multiple cleat marks about the barrel, as well as two chips on the knob)
