Still a few years away from championship glory in Washington with "Slingin' Sammy" Baugh at quarterback, a so-so Boston Redskins squad ran into a real juggernaut, when they faced the Chicago Bears at Fenway Park in November of 1934. "Da Bears" had won back-to-back NFL championships in 1932-1933 and were cruising towards another shot at league supremacy, in racking up a 13-0 regular season record in 1934. A fantastic souvenir of this dynastic period is found with this 11/11/34 Fenway Park program featuring the Boston Redskins vs the Chicago Bears. This bright, clean program takes the field in fairly crisp condition, with a hint of an unobtrusive original period vertical compacting fold that forces a (VG-EX) rating, though it presents better with a tight, sturdy spine and glossy off-white pages. Lead by running back Red Grange and the best offensive line in the league, the Bears kept their winning streak intact with a 21-0 win over the 'Skins in this game, however as all good things must, their rule of the NFL came to an end in the famous "Sneakers Game", losing to the NY Giants on a frozen field at the Polo Grounds in the 1934 Championship game. Listed on the centerfold roster page are HOF greats Red Grange, Bronko Nagurski, George Musso, Link Lyman, Bill Hewitt and Walt Kiesling of the Bears; and Cliff Battles of the Redskins.
