Culled from early-1950s baseball-themed publications, these (5) full pages feature artists’ renderings of legendary diamond figures, several of which have been autographed. Includes:

 

Boston Braves: signed by: Wally Berger (d.1988, blue-ink steel tip fountain pen, “9” strength); Rabbit Maranville (d.1954, graphite pencil, “8-9” strength); and Johnny Sain (d.2006, blue-ink steel tip fountain pen, “9” strength).

 

Chicago Cubs: signed in blue-ink steel tip fountain pen by both Charlie Grimm (d.1983) and Gabby Hartnett (d.1972, signed “Leo “Gabby" Hartnett”); both signatures project (“9”) strength).

 

Cincinnati Reds: signed by: Ernie Lombardi (d.1977, blue-ink steel tip fountain pen, “8” strength); Bill McKechnie (d.1965, blue ink, “8-9” strength); Edd Roush (d.1988, blue ink, “9” strength); and  Bucky Walters (d.1991; blue ink, “8-9” strength).

 

Philadelphia Phillies: signed by: Gavvy Cravath (d.1963, blue-ink steel tip fountain pen, “6-7” strength with partial separation); Del Ennis (d.1996, signed and personalized in blue-ink steel tip fountain pen, “10” strength); and Eddie Sawyer (d.1997, steel tip fountain pen, “8” strength).
