A multi-sport college star from 1910-1912, Wesleyan Cardinals quarterback Everett Bacon was one of the pioneers of the forward pass. For his gridiron efforts in popularizing the most exciting aspect of football play, the 2X All-American was inducted into the College Hall of Fame in 1966. As good as he was on the field, it seems Bacon was also a good citizen off the field. Offered is a Police Association of Suffolk County, Inc. "Life Member" brass card, made in the name of "Everett C. Bacon" (with the initial "C" erroneously located in the middle of his name as opposed to where it belongs, at the front). Suffolk Police Association presidents typically hold the position for one year and this Bacon card is engraved with the name "William Zenner" as "President' at bottom. Zenner's tenure as the Suffolk P.A. president was 1970, positively dating the offered card's year of issue, which Bacon presumably enjoyed the privileges of until his demise in 1989. Purchased directly from Bacon's estate, this gleaming brass card presents in (EX-MT) condition with light signs of wear and distinct lettering/graphics.
