Patriotism personified, Ted Williams returned from three years of service in World War II to mix 38 home runs and 123 RBI into a robust .342 batting average that garnered him that elusive first MVP honor. Most appropriately, Williams launched career home runs 148 and 149 in a doubleheader on Independence Day. Encapsulated and Graded GOOD 2 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Shibe Park for that twinbill. One of two at its tier with none graded higher, the voucher features printed seating and date details, as well as the facsimile signature of Athletics President Connie Mack. Feasting annually on Athletics pitching, Williams hit 91 of his 521 career homers against that franchise.
