Description

Imagine a team going 29-4 down the stretch to close the season at 102-60 – only to finish a distant second, 14 games behind the front runner! Such was the case with the 2001 Oakland Athletics, who authored a torrid surge to secure a Wild Card berth as first-place Seattle tied a Major League record with 116 regular season triumphs. As they neared the finish line, the A’s made a seamless return from the 9-11 work stoppage and, along the way, bested those Mariners, 8-4 on September 29 at Safeco Field as Miguel Tejada hit for the cycle. These batting gloves were worn and autographed by Tejada that day. The white leather accessories feature embroidered “Mizuno” logos on the knuckle portions and “Mizuno Pro” embroidered to each Velcro fastener. On the palm portion of each, Tejada has signed in black marker (“6-7” strength) and inscribed “Cycle – 09/29/01.” Accompanying is a COA from Authentic Sports Investments.
