Gone but not forgotten, Briggs Stadium was the site of the 1951 MLB All-Star Game. Played on July 10th, this "mid-summer classic" saw the NL emerge victorious for a second consecutive year. Timely hitting by Rich Ashburn (2-4, 1R, 2B), Stan Musial (2-4, HR), Jackie Robinson (2-4, 1R, 1RBI) and Gil Hodges (2-5, HR 2R, 2RBI) propelled the NL to an 8-3 victory, with Sal Maglie picking up the win. This main stage event is remembered with this pair of Briggs Stadium gameday souvenirs, with: a program (EX+) with stars Roy Campanella, Stan Musial, Jackie Robinson, Ralph Kiner, Duke Snider, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto and the rest of the AL and NL All-Stars listed on the unused scoring pages; and a "Lower Deck Reserved" ticket stub which presents VG-EX detail with deference to minor surface loss on the reverse side.
