From an era during which smoking was cool - and so was Stan Musial - this point of sale advertising display hawks Chesterfield cigarettes and has been autographed by its smiling spokesperson. Framed to 28-13/16 x 30”, the shadowbox display features a 21x22” 1940s cardboard sign portraying Musial clad in a sport coat, necktie and St. Louis Cardinals cap. The smiling Redbird star has a pack of Chesterfields in hand, with one lit. In black marker, Musial has signed “Stan “The Man” Musial” (“7” strength). The printed content boasts of the product’s “Triple Smoking Pleasure” and identifies Musial as the National League’s Most Valuable Player, which dates the piece to 1943, 1946 or 1948.
