Description

Toiling for the Longview Cannibals, Pueblo Steelworkers and Des Moines Demons (among seemingly countless additional minor league suitors), Jack Tising pitched to a 135-170 record over 19 seasons in the bush leagues, enjoying only a brief tenure in "The Show" with the 1936 Pirates. His third and final big league hit came off of Hall of Famer Carl Hubbell. Reporting back to the minors following an unimpressive Major League showing, Tising remained six more seasons, including the 1945 campaign with the Portland Beavers - for which he won 11 games at the age of 41. During that season, his penultimate, Tising autographed this baseball. The sphere shows diamond use and is signed on a side panel in black-ink steel tip fountain pen. Preceded by a personalization and "Best Wishes" salutation, Tising's bold scripting projects ("7") quality and is accented by his inscription of "Portland 1945." Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA.
