Marvel Comics planted the seeds of an empire in November of 1961, with the historic launch of the super-hero team "The Fantastic Four". This major comic book event laid the groundwork for an incredible lineup of front rank characters, churned out by founding fathers Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and the "Mighty Marvel Bullpen". Using the "Marvel Method", these literary and artistic geniuses introduced a parade of popular Silver Age super-heroes in the '60s, such as Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, Sub-Mariner, Daredevil and Dr. Strange, along with teams the Avengers, the X-Men and of course the team that started it all, the Fantastic Four, who are represented here with FF issue #3. Published in March of 1962, this early FF issue saw the team don costumes, establish a headquarters and roll out the "Fantasti-Car", as seen on the front cover. This respectable example is encapsulated and graded (3.0) by leading certification service CGC, with label notes that include "Off-White Pages" and "Stan Lee story, Jack Kirby and Sol Brodsky cover and art" and "Fantastic Four don costumes and establish headquarters, origin retold, 1st appearance of the Miracle Man".
