Have spitball, will travel! Such was the mantra of Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry as he wore and autographed this jacket during his first tour of duty (1975-1977) with the Texas Rangers – his third of eight different Major League suitors. The blue satin-like button-down garment features “Rangers” arched across the chest in red-on-white twill, while blue-red-and-white striped stretch ribbed cotton lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings. Within the collar, a “Wilson” label denotes size “46.” On the inside, Perry has signed in black marker (“9” strength) and inscribed “#36.” Solid wear is evident, with paint loss about the metallic buttons and what appear to be tobacco stains along the front. Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA (attesting to the autograph’s authenticity).
