The title and description of this listing have been changed to reflect that this lot includes one Harry S. Truman autograph, not two.
Defying headlines after finishing FDR’s unprecedented fourth term in the Oval Office, Harry S. Truman won the 1948 Presidential election and continued a reign under which America prospered. This chief executive-themed display showcases Truman's signature in a stately manner. Framed to 36-3/16 x 23-3/16”, the display is headlined by a 5x3” blank index card, which is personalized and signed by Truman (d.1972) in black-ink steel tip fountain pen (“9” strength), while the accompanying envelope bears a bold autopen signature. Accenting the display are five symmetrically arranged black-and-white photographs of Truman with prior and subsequent United States Presidents. Clockwise, he is pictured with: Herbert Hoover; Franklin D. Roosevelt; John F. Kennedy/Lyndon Johnson; John F. Kennedy/Jackie Kennedy; and Dwight D. Eisenhower. Accompanying is a full photo LOA from JSA.
