Having posted the best record in franchise annals, the 1969 Baltimore Orioles fell prey to the “Amazin’” Mets. The following October, however, Brooks Robinson saw to it that the Birds would not be denied as his hitting and fielding wizardry turned back the “Big Red Machine.” These (2) World Series black bats commemorate those Fall Classic Oriole squads. Turned in limited quantities for players and team personnel, the Hillerich & Bradsby display models each showcase a rich black patina and feature facsimile signatures of those under contract with the Kentucky-based plant (and block-letter stampings of players who wielded “other” weapons). Among those listed are Mark Belanger, Mike Cuellar, Dave McNally, Jim Palmer, Boog Powell, Brooks Robinson and Earl Weaver. Both are blemish-free and present (NM).
