Photo fanatics make a great score with this 1920s-1960s baseball photograph lot of (20). These vintage news service type images boast a fantastic array of star players and managers, including the likes of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Gabby Hartnett, Hughie Jennings, Ed Walsh, the Indianapolis Clowns and more. Condition ranges from average to better, with all examples in display worthy state.


Highlights are:

1929 World Series 9-1/2 x 7-1/4" shot of opening game festivities presents (GD). Featured from left to right are Nick Altrock, Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Connie Mack, Christy Walsh, Joe McCarthy, Babe Ruth and John McGraw. Credit stamp on reverse is "Central Press Library New York, Nov 29 1929, No S-12."

1948 Indianapolis Clowns 8x10 team photo presents GD details with deference to clipped corner at top right. This scarce Negro League photo is signed by (8) team members (average "6-7") with: manager Ramiro Ramirez, Luis "Tigre" Cabrera, "Coco" Ferrer, Ray Neil, John Williams, Jose Velsquez, Jim Bennett and Luis "Villo" Cabrera. Reverse side credit stamp is "Ernest C. Withers - Photographer Memphia, Tennessee", auction LOA from JSA.

1924 Hughie Jennings presenting testimonial to Blanche McGraw. 8-1/2 x 6-1/2" (VG-EX). Reverse credit stamp is "International News Photo, 235 East 45th Street, New York, N.Y.." Giants manager John McGraw had to step down in 1924 due to illness and longtime friend and Giants coach Jennings filled in for him.

1921 Ed Walsh 5x7 portrait (GD). Reverse credit stamps are "International, 226 William St, New York" and "Dec 23 1921."

c.1930s "Gabby" Hartnett 8x10 (VG-EX). Comes with negative and period manila sleeve, no credit stamp.

1923 "Gabby" Hartnett 6x8 (GD). Stamp dated on reverse "April 26, 1925."
