On the heels of his 1980 N.L. MVP, World Series MVP and Phillies world championship, Mike Schmidt was more famous than the Keebler Elves! Hence, Schmitty was the ideal spokesman to promote Nabisco's brand-new sweepstakes offering a grand-prize trip to the 1981 World Series. Our consignor, the 88-year-young Jerry Glenn, was Nabisco's point person for Schmidt's sponsorship deal back then, and this near-pristine advertising ensemble is his last remaining inventory from the sweepstakes. It includes a pair of unused 24x24 cardboard displays (with Schmidt posing alongside Nilla Wafers, Fig Newtons and Nutter Butters), plus these additional rarities: 8-1/2" x 11" promotional brochure; entry-form booklets (2); cardboard holders for the booklets (2); and 14x21 newspaper inserts (11). Still going strong, Jerry Glenn continues to report for duty at his gift-and-memorabilia shop Reminisce in Bluffton, SC, now run by his daughter Lori.
