While the NFL was still taking shape, the short-lived Cincinnati Reds franchise joined the fold in 1933. Unfortunately for "Queen City" fans, the Reds folded after eight games in 1934. At least their 1934 record was perfect, well in a way, as they went 0-8 in their second and final NFL season. One of the teams they lost to in 1934 was the mighty Chicago Bears who were more perfect that year with a record of 13-0, which earned them a birth in the NFL Championship Game. Recall the Bears fantastic 1934 campaign and the hapless Reds as well, with this Wrigley Field program from their second meeting of the 1934 season on October 21st. Having demolished the Reds earlier in the season by a score of 45-3, Red Grange, Bronko Nagurski and gang eased up a bit in this midseason rematch, which saw Grange score two TDs in a 41-7 Bears victory. Other than an original period compacting fold at center, this scarce gameday souvenir reports in impressive condition with a solid spine, bold graphics and fairly clean surfaces, though we can rate it no higher than (GD-VG) due to the prominent fold. Exact dating of this program is readily noted by examining the "League Standing" results printed at the bottom of the Reds roster page and a check of the 1934 Bears schedule, which indicates they faced the Reds in their second and sixth games of the 1934 season.
