Representing his eighth and final Major League suitor with which he culminated his Hall of Fame career at the age of 44, Gaylord Perry donned and autographed this Kansas City Royals home jersey at a July 21, 1991 “Heroes of the Game” exhibition at Royals Stadium. Tailored to the specifications of Perry’s 1983 Royals gamers, the white knit button-down garment features “Royals” angled across the chest in blue twill, “36” sewn to the back and left front in like fashion and “PERRY” arched atop the back number in blue block-style characters. Just below the front number, Perry has signed in blue marker (“8” strength). A team logo patch adorns the left sleeve, while blue-and-white striped stretch ribbed knit lines the collar and sleeve endings. A “Rawlings” MLB silhouette logo tag is situated on the left front tail, while a “Rawlings” size “50” label is sewn within the collar. Single event wear is evident. Accompanying is an LOA signed by Perry.
